Marguerite-Séraphine Beving was born in 1818 in Echternach. Coming from a wealthy family, she made it her duty to help the poor. She married Pierre-Antoine Pescatore, a merchant in Luxembourg City, in 1841. Widowed at the age of 26, Marguerite-Seraphine Beving devoted herself to the education of her only son Antoine and her daughter-in-law Emilie and increased her help to the poor. Her foundations are numerous: the hospital of the Franciscan Sisters at the Marché-aux-Poissons, where she herself works as a sister-converse, the orphanage in Itzig and a retirement home in Grevenmacher. This charitable lady also supported numerous associations. She died in 1873.
