Born in 1888 to parents Pierre Reinert and Marie Leick, Claire Reinert was one of seven children. In 1911, Claire Reinert was authorised to work as a midwife. She opened a small maternity clinic in Rue du Moulin in Mondorf-les-Bains. Clara Reinert was very popular and the inhabitants dearly called her Joffer Klara or even Tata Klara.
Women from Mondorf-les-Bains and the surrounding area come here to give birth to their babies. She also cycled to the villages around Mondorf-les-Bains to see the women who gave birth at home, even across the border to villages in Lorraine.
Later she got a car, and was the first woman in Mondorf-les-Bains to drive a car.
Her brother Auguste, who was widowed at a very young age and alone with three children, found a home with her.
Clara Reinert died on 9 August 1968.
